Sunday, June 8 – Guided tours and wine tastings in the historic garden of Valpolicella

On Sunday, June 8, the Garden of Pojega takes part in the 2025 edition of Appuntamento in Giardino (Rendezvous in the Garden), the national event promoted by the Italian Association of Parks and Gardens (APGI) to celebrate historic gardens and their connection with the cultural landscape.

This year’s theme, “Stone gardens, garden stones”, resonates in a particularly meaningful way with the identity of the Garden of Pojega: a masterpiece of Italian Neoclassicism that elegantly combines vegetal architecture with an extraordinary collection of stone artworks.

The limestone sculptures of the Garden of Pojega

Enhancing the “green architecture” of the garden, over 60 sculptures in local limestone are scattered throughout the estate, attributed to the 18th-century Vicenza-based artist Pietro Muttoni. Classical deities, mythological creatures and exotic beasts animate the paths, terraces and arboreal wings of the garden. Each sculpture is part of a symbolic and theatrical design, making this garden a unique example among Italy’s historic gardens still open to visitors today.

Event programme: guided tour and wine tasting

To mark the occasion, the Garden will offer two guided tours at 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM, led by certified CTG guides. The route will unveil the garden’s history, artistic features and the stories hidden among stones and foliage.

At the end of the tour, guests may take part in a wine tasting offered by Guerrieri Rizzardi Winery, paired with artisanal focaccia. Featured wines include:
